Town of Wrentham Facilities Maintenance Specialist

    The Town of Wrentham is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Specialist to assist with the maintenance, repair and improvement of various Town facilities and equipment. Under the direction of the Director of Facilities and Capital Planning, performs maintenance and routine upkeep of buildings, supervising and scheduling building custodians and implementing systems to prioritize, plan and deliver services to maintain Town properties.
    Duties include but are not limited to: Assists with the administration of a comprehensive maintenance program including overall maintenance, planning and scheduling of both long- and short-range maintenance projects. Performs maintenance, troubleshooting and routine upkeep of buildings and equipment. Performs carpentry and maintenance work in accordance with approved procedures and required codes. Supervises two part time custodians; scheduling, assigning tasks and training. Prioritizes tasks to provide the highest level of quality for cost effective maintenance and repair and upkeep of Town properties. Responsible for the purchasing, procuring, inventory control and distribution of all custodial supplies, materials and equipment used in Town buildings. Position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail and ability to work well with Director, staff, Town officials, vendors, and contractors. Must be available for emergencies as well as routine snow and ice responsibilities.
    Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of a High School Diploma. Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Architecture; or related field preferred; and/or a combination of education and work experience will be strongly considered. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, carpentry or trades.
    Additional Requirements:
    Commonwealth of Massachusetts License in one or more of the major trades (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Construction, etc.) is desirable. Valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator’s license; Ability to successfully pass Wrentham Public Schools and Town of Wrentham background checks.
    Salary: Full-time, Benefit eligible, non-exempt position. Salary range: $25.00 – $32.50 per hour; 35 hours per week.
