The Town of Walpole is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the role of Superintendent of Building Maintenance. This position executes the goals set forth by the Town Administration & the Director of Public Works pertaining to the operation & maintenance of town owned buildings. Responsible for the repairs and upkeep, capital improvements and proper operation of Town owned facilities.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills:
Candidate must have thorough knowledge of the building trade and the latest concepts in maintenance and preventive maintenance of building structures. A constant update on knowledge of all state and federal mandates, including the American Disabilities Act, the Clean Air Act, the Asbestos Management Law, and all related mandates pertaining to the care and upkeep of all the facilities to keep them in a clean and safe environment. The ability to program and schedule activities on long and short-term basis. Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely orally and in writing. Substantial responsibility for determining the sequence and timing of action and independence in planning and organizing the work activities, including determining the work methods.
Associates Degree supplemented specialized courses in the field, plus three to five (3-5) years’ experience in Building Maintenance with a supervisory position. Must have a working knowledge of the care and upkeep of physical plants and structures.
Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid state driver’s license issued by the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Must have a construction license.

Salary:
Annual Salary: $93,248 – $123,038; Full-time; Non-union position. Position expected to be filled in Fall 2024 to allow selected candidate to work alongside current Building Superintendent until current Superintendent retires in December 2024
