Position Overview:
Medford Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join the Facilities Department. This role is pivotal in managing ongoing and upcoming capital projects, including those related to Medford’s capital planning and the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) process for Medford High School. The Project Manager will oversee project timelines, budgets, and coordination with contractors and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this position supports the maintenance, management, and strategic planning of the district’s buildings, grounds, and physical infrastructure to create safe, efficient, and welcoming learning environments.Qualities MPS is looking for:

Knowledge of facilities management and capital project processesKey Responsibilities:
Manage all phases of capital projects from planning through completion
Ensure projects adhere to established timelines and budget constraints
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, district and city staff, and external partners
Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and communicate updates to MPS Central Senior Leadership, including but not limited to the Chief Operations Officer, Finance Director, and Superintendent
Support the Facilities Department in space planning, utilities management, and environmental controls as related to projects
Assist in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and district policies
Collaborate with the Chief Operations Officer and other district leaders to align projects with overall facilities strategy and goals
Contribute to maintaining safe, efficient, and attractive school environmentsQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred
Proven experience in managing capital or construction projects, ideally within an educational or public sector setting
Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and security systems, is beneficial
Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, and contract management
Ability to interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to school facilities
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholdersCompensation:
Work year is 260 days with flexible full-time hours to respond to project needs and timelines. Competitive salary commensurate with experience, with a pay range of $80,000 to $110,000.
