Greater Lowell Technical High School seeks a highly qualified, skilled manager to fill the position of
Director of Plant Services. Reporting to the Superintendent/Director, the Director is responsible for
planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all physical plant functions which include building
services, capital improvements, deferred maintenance, landscape operations, engineering, skilled trades,
shipping and receiving, vendor services and contracts, utilities and energy management, and the
management and development of custodial, maintenance, and security staff. The Director oversees a
department of 30 FT/PT employees, a general fund budget of approximately $3.0 million, maintenance of
a 512,000 sq. foot state of the art facility with 72 acres of land. Qualifications: Minimum of Bachelor’s
degree in Facilities Management or related field; required. Seven to ten years of physical building
operations; required. Minimum of three to five years of supervisory experience in either business,
industry, government or education facility; required. Knowledgeable in laws, regulations and compliance
factors related to facilities operation and construction (building codes, etc.). Working knowledge of:
Electrical, HVAC and Hydraulic Systems, standard maintenance, mechanical, custodial practices,
procedures, and techniques; and fundamental knowledge of Automotive Mechanics and related fields.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and equipment manuals. Proficiency in
Microsoft applications and related facility management software. Experience in budgeting control, school
finance, in addition to strong organizational, managerial, problem-solving, interpersonal, written and

Salary range: $115,644 – $134,187/annually.
