    <span style=”font-weight: 400;”>TITLE:  Facilities Director</span>

     

    <span style=”font-weight: 400;”>QUALIFICATIONS:</span>

      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Trade school or college degree preferred</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Minimum of five (5) years of experience in general building maintenance </span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Demonstrated ability in maintenance and operation of HVAC systems</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Current Electrician’s, Plumber’s, and/or Contractor Licenses preferred</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Physically fit to perform duties.  Employer reserves the right to request proof of a physical examination to determine fitness prior to employment.</span>

    <span style=”font-weight: 400;”>To contribute to the healthy environment for learning by maintaining the school facilities in a condition of operating excellence.</span>

     

    <span style=”font-weight: 400;”>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</span>

      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Participates as a member of the leadership team and consults with building principals on a regular basis. </span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Hires, guides, and motivates a team of custodians to help with the maintenance, security and upkeep of the school facilities.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Completes evaluations and provides feedback to the team of custodians. Also sets their schedules and handles the transfer, promotion, demotion, or dismissal. Approves leave requests. </span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Organizes and implements an orientation and training program regarding proper operation, maintenance and policies for the facilities department.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Assumes responsibility for the comprehensive overall planning and scheduling of maintenance and repair requirements of the district with a focus on preventative maintenance.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Establishes appropriate procedures for the maintenance, groundskeeping, security, and custodial requirements for each school facility.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Coordinates the snow removal from school facilities with the district team and town departments. </span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Orders, receives, stores and inventories all maintenance and grounds’ tools, equipment, materials and supplies.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Keeps informed of the latest trends, developments and products in the areas of maintenance, energy efficiency, repair and upkeep, and encourages innovation and experimentation where appropriate and fiscally responsible.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Maintains personnel and other records as required.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Prepares annual budget for the facilities department. Also, helps in the development of the capital improvements budget planning. </span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Gathers quotes for project work and helps with the procurement process.  </span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Supervises and inspects the improvement and renovation work performed by outside contracts and verifies that the terms of all such contracts have been fulfilled before authorizing payments.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Oversees and monitors all HVAC operations.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Maintains the district vehicles for reliablitity and safety. </span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Develops and implements an emergency response system for the department.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Works cooperatively with all other district and town departments to ensure smooth operating procedures.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Attends leadership team meetings and other meetings as necessary.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Complies with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish and waste.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Conducts a continuing analysis of systems and procedures.</span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Collaborates with the Harvard Energy Advisory Committee. </span>
      <li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent.</span>

     

    <span style=”font-weight: 400;”>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</span>

     

    <span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Twelve-month year.  In addition to the regular work schedule, it is expected that an employee work overtime to accommodate various facilities issues. Salary and work year to be established by the Superintendent. </span>

    <span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Performance of this job will be evaluated at least yearly by the Superintendent. </span>
