KeymasterThe Town of Belmont Department of Public Facilities is seeking a Director of Facilities Management. Under the
direction of the Town Administrator and Superintendent of Schools, the Director of Facilities Management
directs programs to maintain all public buildings. Responsible for the coordination and care of all town-owned
buildings, including: custodial care/cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and energy management, landscaping and
pedestrian snow removal (schools), building safety and hazardous management.
The Director of Facilities Management will also develop and maintain multi-year, large scale capital
improvement plans and maintenance programs for all town buildings and implement a system to prioritize
maintenance projects. This position also oversees work of custodial and maintenance personnel and is
responsible for the proper adherence to the Public Construction and Procurement Laws. Possession of, or
working towards MCPPO certification desirable. The Director of Facilities Management will attend and present
at different meetings including the Public Facilities Board, Select Board, School Committee, and Energy
Committee when required or requested.
A successful candidate will possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills and comprehensive knowledge of
procurement law. Minimum requirements include an equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited
college or university with major course work in construction management, civil engineering, construction
engineering, architecture or a related field. Seven to ten years of experience in facilities management, five of
which shall be supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required upon hire.
The starting salary range is $110,792 – $134,058. This is a forty (40) hour per week, exempt position, with the
expectation that emergency situations may require additional hours outside the normal work week. This
position qualifies for the Town’s comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental and life insurance, as
well as paid vacation, sick, personal and holiday leave. This position also qualifies for the Town’s pension system.
Town Hall Hours are Mondays, 8am to 7pm; Tuesday through Thursday, 8am to 4pm, and Fridays, 8am-12pm.
