KeymasterCome join Team Chatham! The Town of Chatham is currently accepting applications
for the position of Facilities Foreman in the Department of Public Works.Under the general direction of the Department of Public Works Director or designee,
the responsibilities of the position include organizing and coordinating the day-to-day
operational aspects of the function and maintenance of the Town’s municipal buildings
and facilities using electronic work order system and Microsoft Office applications
including Microsoft Excel. This includes daily oversight of facility maintenance staff
and contractors to ensure that buildings and facilities are running safely, efficiently
and smoothly. Position requires cooperation and communication skills to coordinate
between multiple municipal divisions to ensure that scheduling and assignment of
personnel, equipment and other resources meets current and planned needs. The
position is also responsible for providing labor, materials and logistical support to
existing projects. Work includes providing estimates, tracking resources and expenses,
managing assets, directing vendors if used, and obtaining proposals with specifications
for potential facility maintenance and repair projects. Ideal candidate will have
practical experience and working knowledge of public construction and repair &
maintenance of public buildings and properties via use of electronic work order
program and building management systems. Position requires a high school diploma
or an apprentice level in the trades – with an Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred,
and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in building trades, project management,
public works engineering, construction, and/or maintenance. Additionally, the position
requires current DOT Medical Certification and valid Massachusetts Construction
Supervisors’ license, and proven supervisory skills.This full-time, year-round, and benefits/pension eligible position is 40 hours per week
with an expectation for overtime and on-call hours. Participation for snow and
weather-related operations is mandatory. Position is covered under the Chatham
Municipal Employees Association.Starting annual salary is $62,566.40 – $65,728.00
