    1. Perform emergency repairs to school buildings and equipment.
    2. Participate in semiannual and annual preventive maintenance inspections on all building systems.
    3. Keep the Facilities Manager informed of the progress of the work and any significant developments as they occur.
    4. Identify and correct health and safety issues in a timely manner.
    5. Keep work areas clean and clear of debris.
    6. Perform corrective action and preventive maintenance regarding building systems.
    7. Assist in the development, ongoing updating, and implementation of the building preventive maintenance plan.
    8. Assure compliance with building, health, and safety codes.
    9. Perform energy management duties in electrical, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, controls, building envelope infrastructures and equipment.
    10. Perform other miscellaneous related duties as required by the Facilities Manager.

    Job Requirements

    • 1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
      2. Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
      3. Successful completion of a Criminal Record check (CORI), National Background Check (fingerprinting) and a pre-placement medical examination.
      4. Demonstrated interest in working in a school environment.
      5. Ability to perform emergency and routine repairs and preventive maintenance.
      6. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
      7. Good oral and written skills.
      8. Demonstrated ability to perform a wide variety of skilled and unskilled maintenance tasks using hand or power tools and related equipment to maintain buildings and equipment.
      9. Ability to handle stressful situations and to maintain confidential information.
      10. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with coworkers, administrators, faculty and staff, and the public.
      11. Ability to work independently with little direction and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

    • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
