    The Town of Belmont is now accepting applications for the Full Time position of:

    Director of Facilities Management


    Salary Range $92,978.80 – $112,503.97(FY18)

    The Town of Belmont Department of Public Facilities is seeking a Director of Facilities Management. Under the direction of the Town Administrator and Superintendent of Schools, the Director of Facilities Management directs programs to maintain all public buildings. Responsible for the coordination and care of all town-owned buildings, including: custodial care/cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and energy management, landscaping and pedestrian snow removal (schools), building safety and hazardous management.

    The Director of Facilities Management will also develop and maintain multi-year, large scale capital improvement plans and maintenance programs for all town buildings and implement a system to prioritize maintenance projects. This position also oversees work of custodial and maintenance personnel and is responsible for the proper adherence to the Public Construction and Procurement Laws. Possession of, or working towards MCPPO certification desirable. The Director of Facilities Management will attend and present at different meetings including the Public Facilities Boards, Board of Selectmen, School Committee when required or requested.

    A successful candidate will possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills and comprehensive knowledge of procurement law. Minimum requirements include an equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in construction management, civil engineering, construction engineering, architecture or a related field. Seven to ten years of experience in facilities management, five of which shall be supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required upon hire.

    The starting salary range is $92,978.80 – $112,503.97. This is a forty (40) hour per week position and qualifies for the Town’s comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental and life insurance, as well as paid vacation, sick, personal and holiday leave. This position also qualifies for the Town’s pension system.

    Application Process

    All applicants are required to complete a Town application form, available from the Town’s website, http://www.belmont-ma.gov, by emailing humanresources@belmont-ma.gov, calling (617) 993-2740 or by visiting the Human Resources Department at the Belmont Town Hall. Applicants may attach resumes to the Town application form as additional information but cannot use this in lieu of completing the required form.

    All full-time and some part-time employees will need to complete a pre-employment physical and drug-screening examination. Certain positions will also require a CORI criminal background screening. The Town reserves the right to modify the application deadline and/or accept applications after the deadline in order to best serve the interest of the community.

    After the submission deadline, the Human Resources Department and a review committee will review all completed applications and will select the most highly-qualified respondents for interviews. The Town will acknowledge receipt of completed applications that it receives and will only further contact individuals who the Town selects to interview.
