      The Town of Wellesley’s Facilities Management Department (FMD) seeks highly qualified candidates to be our new Projects Assistant in our Design & Construction group. This is an opportunity to join one of the top municipal facilities organizations in the area and be a major contributor to the Town’s ambitious building program.

      Reporting to the Design and Construction Manager (DCM), the Projects Assistant’s primary responsibility is to provide administrative support for all aspects of designer selection, design and construction for capital building projects.  The incumbent assists the DCM and Project Managers in providing day-to-day support to the Permanent Building Committee. The work requires frequent interaction with other Town/School employees, vendors and contractors, and the general public, and good interpersonal and communication skills.  The incumbent must obtain a thorough knowledge of Wellesley’s organizational structure including financial reporting and public meeting requirements.

      Minimum Requirements:  Associate’s Degree in Business, Liberal Arts or related field, or equivalent experience.  Five years of administrative experience in an office environment.  Proficient computer skills, including thorough knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills and basic bookkeeping skills.  Familiarity with applicable Massachusetts General Laws and state procurement laws preferred.

      This is a full-time, 35-hour per week position with hourly rate of pay of $26.14 to $32.52 depending upon qualifications.
