The MFAA Board is excited to partner, again, with our friends at MASBO and host our March 1/2 Day Institute as part of their Annual Solutions Fair. All MFAA members must register through this event so we can have an accurate headcount for MASBO.

Hear from one of our industries most trusted resources on effective work loading of a custodian’s assigned duties/area based off of ISSA Standards along with countless facilities audited by Hillyard. J.P. will also review and update any changes regarding the APPA Standards for Clean. A great session for all custodial leaders that will help gain efficiencies and balance work for their custodians while setting proven expectations.

This panel presentation will walk attendees through best practices regarding the hiring process, onboarding, what happens during the first 6 months, and how to manage beyond the probationary period. The panel’s combined experience providing exceptional custodial services for multiple communities brings great perspective and options that can easily be replicated for guaranteed success.

11:30 am – 1:15 pm:  EXPO Floor  (Lunch served on the floor at 12noon)

1:15 – 2:00 pm:             Facility Maintenance Plans (FMP)

Duchess Room              Gale Associations, Inc. and Framingham Public Schools; Lincoln Lynch, Executive Director, Finance and Operations, Framingham P.S.; Brian Neely, Associate, Gale Associates, Inc.

Municipal facility managers are being required to manage more buildings with less staff and budget dollars than ever before so it’s more critical to develop organized methods for tracking past, current, and future building repairs. A formal facility management plan (FMP) can assist in day-to-day operations and long-term planning. Gale Associates, Inc. was recently retained by the Framingham Public Schools to assist in identifying the current service life of building enclosure systems (roofs, walls, windows, doors, sealants) for each school department building. The survey findings were incorporated with the mechanical system and interior finish data to provide a ten-year Master FMP to be used for long-range budgeting. This presentation will review the FMP process from evaluation through budget approval.
